Just another bridge for the crossing...

Tomorrow is Saturday, August 1st and for all of those out there who live in the city you know what this means...move-out/move in day! I am so excited for the festivities of packing, moving and unpacking to commence! I know that it will be a lot of work for me and my family but i am so excited to flip the page of my life with a fresh start!

This past year has been a tough one for me...I have learned a lot about myself and a couple of other people that were close to me. I know that this year is going to be everything and more because i am going to make it that way! I will be living in a beautiful house with 3 lovely young women, i get my own room, the house is an easy ride away from downtown, and i have a brand new attitude!

I have done quite a bit of thinking and reflecting in the past few weeks and i have come to the decision that I am going to graduate college in the Spring of 2010- a whole year earlier than originally planned. I have made this decision for the following reasons:

1) I have attended summer school for the past 2 summers and if i load up on 20 units each semester (fall and spring) then i will be able to graduate in the Spring!

2) I haven't had the easiest time in college. I guess its just not really my thing?

3) I am o so ready for bigger and better endeavors!

4) Most importantly...i want to make my parents proud, i have really never done anything exceptionally well to make my parents beam with pride so hopefully i can make them proud and graduate in a year!

I am very excited about the choice that i have made yet on the other hand i don't really know where i am going to go from there. Hopefully grad school if i can bring up my GPA and hopefully i will be able to attend the U of O, at least that's were my head is at for now but who is to say that it wont change within the next year!

All in all i am excited to begin a new year, my last year of college, and to take in all that God has in store for me and tomorrow's move marks the beginning of it! :) The way i see it, its just another bridge for the crossing so why not have a little fun, i may have to pay a toll but i know that in the end it will all be worth it and i will be one step closer to finding who i am!

Happy Weekend Kick Off...

Hello Hello out there!

Yesterday, thursday, i went to my last class of the week, unexpectedly rocked my presentation and met up with Friend for a fun night of food and laughter. I was late to pick up Friend-as usual-sorry- but i eventually got there and scooped her up and attempted to head out of the city. And yes i said attempted because we were in traffic for an hour and a half, o joy!

Once on our way Friend and i broke out a delicious dip for our short road trip to Friend's home. Our night wasn't too exciting but it was so much fun as usual. We sat oustide for a bit and chatted then moved inside due to hungry bugs. Unfortuantely I fell casuality to the mosquitos but it was worth it. We then ate delicious Specialty's cookies that Friend bought and drifted off to sleep. It was a tip top thursday :)

Picking yourself back up...

Because i can't sleep I will bless you all with a wonderful tale of personal embarrassment. Just like any other story of a girl living in San Francisco, this tale begings with my usual and predictable tardiness. I know its shocking but i was running a tad bit behind schedule so to make up for my tardiness I drove to the muni station a couple of blocks from my house and began to book it to the entrance. I saw a bus/rail approaching and I felt a sense of relief 'Maybe I will make it after all?' I mean why not, I had already gotten the appropriate change so all i had to do was make it to the platform.

After I rushed across the tracks and too the ticket turn I realized that it was July 2nd and for all you public transit goers out there you know what that means...ticket prices were raised and are now $2 instead of $1.50 (which is a completely different story). Irritated i ran to the change machine to make change for another dollar to accomidate the ridiculous price of a 2 hour ticket, all the while the rail bus has pulled into the station and has began to let its eager passengers out. I got my change, put it in the machine, moved through the turn and began to run up the stairs. In order to increase the amount of ground covered per second I decide to put my long legs to use by two-timing the steps. Who knew that two-timing stairs shouldn't be paired with not looking at the stairs...but i certainly know now because as i am sure you have all guessed I tripped going up the stairs and my backpack, wallet, cell phone and especially my dignity went flying out of my grasp.

I picked myself off of the ground, gathered my belongings and ran towards the still awaiting bus out of sheer embarrassment. Just as I reach the doors of the bus i hear the dreaded sound, those familiar with Muni know exactly what I am talking about....the dreaded high pitched 'BEEEEEEEP' which sometimes you are suprised you can hear because it is so high pitched that you would think only dogs and rats could hear it.

And with that beep the doors shut and the train moves along. I decided to sit down and wait until the next bus came, and now i knew i would surely be late. I looked up after i had taken a seat and guess what? A train was approaching-just the one i needed! This turned out to be a success story and yes ladies and gentlemen, I was ON TIME!

I love this story because it was so funny, ofcourse that would happen to me just as i reach the bus after all of that. Another reason that i like telling this story is because I think that it parallels my life quite nicely. I have recently taken a bit of a stumble and maybe I have been a bit set back but its just a matter of time before i pick myself up again and make it to my desitinaion.

Long Overdue...

Hello my cyber bloggers!

So its been awhile but in my defense I lead a fairly boring life so I haven't had much to blog about, nothing that anyone would really care to spend their time reading and then I realized...nobody reads my blogs haha.

Lets see where should I begin? In the past few weeks I have finished my first session of summer school successfully and started the second session this week. I really enjoy these classes much more which is a HUGE plus! I have been fortunate enough to see Friend at least once a week which is such a blessing because it keeps me grounded!

The last time we had a date we went to a lovely cozy sushi resturant, Sushi Groove, in the heart of the city. Getting there was only half the fun-we parked on a street like was at an impossible angle and barely got out of the car. After squeezing out we went got to the restuarant to order our meal. We had our regular Spider Roll, Catepillar Roll, and a new favorite the Pete's Roll! We had a blast as always, from listening to other peoples bizarre conversations to getting eavesdropped on ourselves haha. After our dinner extravaganza we ventured over to an icecream parlor and got ourselves a treat on a cone :-)

All in all it was a wonderful time.
